Don't Badger Me
Since June 2021, Michelle has been running a charity titled “Don’t Badger Me” in addition to the shop. She always wanted to help, provide furniture, kitchen equipment and anything else for a new, safe home for free, for those who really need help.
On the second day of opening, a lovely girl came into the shop. She was desperate for help to escape an extremely unhappy situation. Michelle spent the day with her in a safe place where she was comfortable and able to gather her thoughts. She reached some life-changing decisions which allowed us to assist in finding a safe house for her. She then began a new chapter in her life. She has now settled in a new home and keeps in touch with us regularly. She will always have a special place in ours hearts and is the reason why we are so determined to build a safe community.
Don't Badger Me is helping the community in several ways:
Supporting everyone who have had to leave their homes quickly to escape domestic abuse.
Give pre-loved equipment a second home, preventing waste.
Do you need help but can’t act freely? Come to our shop during regular business hours (you can find them at the bottom of this page), pretending you’re browsing or buying something. You can always speak to us. Michelle will always make the time to help.
Are you currently planning to buy some new equipment and your current one is still functional? Or do you have some left in storage from your last swap? Drop us a message. We sell all donated equipment on the first floor in our shop building.
